Ode to Forgetfulness

Memory is probably the most important thing we have as human beings. Without it, we have nothing to base off of, and it defines everything about us. People enjoy the luxury of seeing and hearing people, places and things, holding onto their image or sound, and keeping that. The younger you are, the easier it is, but it is also easier to forget about forgetting later in your life.

Dementia can strike many ages, but it is clearly more prominent in senior citizens.  Although you may be young, the fact that this may happen to you eventually might not be a concern in your daily life. If you have someone in your life suffering from a form of dementia, then you have experienced the pain of forgetting, but for those who have no experience, keep this one thing in mind: always remember about forgetting.

The best way to keep your mind from forgetting is to keep up with thought-provoking activities. Board-games, reading, anything that gets you thinking will slow the dementia process. It just depends on your will to remember.

Memory is in our mind, and the mind creates us. Try and remember that you may not remember someday, and the mind makes us human and unique.  Here is a thoughtful video, an Ode to Forgetfulness.
